Is this correct, Mataji? >If you really thought that the purpose of the text of my wife was to establish >female animals in the templeroom that would be an insult, yes. I guess you just >mentioned it for humour, right? At least somewhat facetiously, yes, prabhu. And I used the word "rhetorical" once recently to explain similar questions. As you say below, these COM communications can be confusing, being too a great degree impersonal; it's often quite difficult to politely challenge or dispute another's statement without being perceived as harsh/arrogant/sarcastic. And that's one reason why I deliberately repeat "prabhu" and "Mataji" somewhat often, in an attempt to diffuse a potentially volatile situation. (I try to remember that Kali takes every opportunity to create dissension amongst the Vaisnavas, so although there must necessarily be disagreements whenever there are individuals, there should not be serious conflict amongst us followers of Srila Prabhhupada.) And it's good practice for me to use these titles of respect. I'm trying to train my mind to the standard of always thinking resepctfully. >Anyway, no offence taken, sometimes it would be a bit of a change to have an >elephant or two for a kirtan, really. Hare Krishna. Good point, prabhu >ys Trayimaya dasa >PS: As you may have noticed I do not mind in any way the use of the title "Mataji". >There is no point in making an issue out of that. The tone of your letter was >percieved as arrogant from my perspective, that´s all. It may simply be the medium >of COM that confuses me, I´ll give you the benefit of the doubt. Thank you, prabhu, because I give my "brahmana's word of honor" that I used that title with full respect, with no arrogance or sarcasm the least bit intended. Again, although it may seem contradictory, still we know that in Vedic culture even enemies on the battlefied would compliment each other during the fight and would even fraternize in the evenings. So we Westerners are gradually being pulled up to the standard of being able to ardently disagree while simultaneously remaining fully respectful to our "opponents"--something which is quite foreign to our Western conditioned nature. >Please accept my humble obeisances. Hare Krishna. Vancha kalpa tarubhyas ca ... vaisnavebhyo namo namah. >(My good wife tells me to let you know that I have a very physical job and my biceps >(and triceps) are welldeveloped:)) Prabhu, please tell Mataji that I am very happy to hear that she is so well protected! --gkdas
