Guest guest Posted February 12, 2001 Report Share Posted February 12, 2001 ISKCON Russia Press-center report, 2000 Our materials were accepted by the newspapers: Tretiy Glaz (The Third Eye), Opasniy Vozrast (The Risky Age), Tainaya Sila (The Secret Power), Progress-T (Orenburg City, the Ural), Inostranetz (Foreigner), Moskovskiye Vedomosti (Moscow Gazette), Liga Naziy (The League of Nations), Trud (Labor), Vecherniy Klub (Evening Club), Commersant-daily, Vechernyaya Moscva (Evening Moscow; twice), Moscovscaya Pravda, Moscovskiy Komsomoletz (the most readable newspaper), ICE Bulletin, Indian Embassy Informational Bulletin, by the magazines: Vybor (The Choice, published by Moscow University students), Bolshoi Tzelevoi Zhurnal ( The Big Special Purpose Magazine, St.Petersbourg), Gauranga (published by ISKCON Moscow), Ptyuch ( an invented word; the magazine for youth), Om (youth magazine), Elle (magazine for ladies), 2000, Religiya i Pravo (Religion and Right), Ogonyok (Light; the most popular magazine), Molotok (Hammer; youth magazine); Bharat Darpan (published by Indians in Russian), GBC Journal. Our materials were published by the newspapers: Megapolis-express, Pulse (Chernigov, the Ukraine), Moscovskiye Novosti (Moscow news), Moscovskaya Pravda, Moscovskiy Komsomoletz (thrice), NG-religii (religious supplement to "Nezavisimaya Gazeta"), Inostranetz, Gorodskoi Kuryer (City Couriere, Sarov City, the Central Russia), Tretya Stolitza (the Third Capital; Omsk City, Siberia), Progress-T (the Ural), Vaisnavskiye Vedomosti (Vaisnava News, Moscow; nos.1-15) By the magazines: Factor (the magazine of very powerful Gazprom Corp.), Index (2 articles in one issue; Human Rights advocates magazine), Bolshoi Tzelevoi Zhurnal (Big Goal-oriented Magazine; Medical science; St.Petersbourg), Vestnik (Indian Embassy information), Zerkalo Indii (twice; Indian Mirror; published in Russian by Indians), Misteztvo Berezillya (the Ukranian theatre journal), Religiya i Pravo (Religion and Law; published by Human Rights advocats), Adrenalin (the magazine for youth), Om (for youth), Elle (for ladies). Our pictures were published by Indian Embassy in their 50-th anniversary book "India". Our information was spread by the news agencies: ASI (Social Information Agency; 4 times), Blagovest (Religious News Agency; 22 times), RIA (Russian Information Agency, one of the two biggest; 5 times), ITAR-TASS (another one of the two biggest; 5 times), Interfax. Info on the talk between H/G Vaidyanath Prabhu and Mr.Vajpayee as well as former's New Year greetings to Russian people were spread bty All-Russia radio; our declaration on Georgian authorities' vandalism (they arrested our books there) - by the Int. Helsinki Federation (besides we sent the declaration to 16 media). News-release on H/G Vaidyanath Prabhu's participation in Hindu Conf. in Rishikesh was spread through Internet by City Cat Service. Ouir materials were published on Internet site india.ru. We prepared 9 photo-stories; 7 of them were accepted by the central photo agency Fotochronika-TASS. We distributed 47 news-releases. We issued 5 issues of our bulletin for media Hare Krsna Segodnya. First time we made a colourful version of Hare Krsna Segodnya in Internet. We presented our story for the server of Crimea Club in Internet and another story - to Human Rights advocats. We edited advertising texts for Yekaterinburg yatra (the Ural). We prepared a photo-story for the Indian Embassy. We assisted - Baskortostan, Kazan and Saratov Yatras (Volga region) as well as: Kirghiz and St.Petersbourg Yatras in counteracting local media attacks; - Murmansk (the European North) Yatra in making their newspaper. We sent our greetings with - Woman Day - to 33 lady-journalists; - New Year - to 85 media people; - Tenth Anniversary - to Nezavisimaya gazeta; - Divali - to Indian Ambassador. We sent FFL story - to devotees of Danish Yatra and to The Vegetarian Resources (USA). We sent our protest against derogatory statements by - newspapers: AIF (Arguments and Facts, the leader of subscription), Izvestia (News), Svezhiy Nomer (The Last Issue, a new Moscow newspaper); - magazines: Vot Tak (Just So; half-porno); NLO-Kaleidoscop (UFO- Kaleidoscope; gutter press). We made an agreement with Moscovscaya Pravda to publish retraction of their derogatory statements. We arranged Moscow Indian community's protest against derogatory statements by - Sovetskaya Rossiya (Soviet Russia, published by communists-radicals); - Andrei Khvylya-Olinter (then Ministry of Internal Affairs officer, colonel; so we sent our complaint to the Minister). We sent our materials for NTV (one of the biggest TV companies) web site. We made stories on Janmastami and Deity worship for Moscow temple guests. We prepared a material for presentation on Hindu Conference in Rishikesh. We took part in celebration of Moskovskiy Komsomoletz Day, distributing to public 50 copies of our old newspaper Tvoi Shance - Soznaniye Krishny ( KC - Your Chance) and 30 copies of our book Vedic Tradition in Russia. We prepared texts for - condolescence letter (when "Kursk" submarine had sunk); - H/G Vaidyanath Prabhu's meeting with Mr.Vajpayee - H/G Radha-Damodar Prabhu's TV talk. We made a research expedition to trace the history of Astrakhan (Southern Russia) Vaisnava community XVII-XIX centuries.
