Request for a prayer for the earth quake victims.

Dear Maharajas,Prabhus and matajis,

Please accept my humble obeisances.All glories to Shrila Prabhuapada.

Thank you very much for the positive response you gave to our appeal for you

to invoke the blessings of the Lord on the quake hit people of Gujarat,by

chanting the Holy Names.We got some fifty responses so far some from

individual devotees and some from groups like -Pancaratna Prabhu's, Mother

Malati's and Kala kantha Prabhu's. We take the dust from your lotus feet and

put it on our heads.Just as we didn't know how devastating a blow can be

dealt by the lower material nature of the Lord,we can not estimate the power

of higher spiritual nature to counteract all such material blows.As Lord

Caitanya said ,"The Holy Name alone can render all benedictions.And you have

invested all your energies into these Names...." So no other remedial

measures material or spiritual will be effective.

 

On the Gour Purnima day ,March 9th,we started shata koti Hari nama japa

yagna(one billion Holy Names)to be completed within one year.We had a fire

sacrifice with five fires for two hours and then started with tumultous

kirtan.HH Maha Vishnu Swami(Elderly Gujarati Swamiji) chanted the first

round on the beads walking on each of the 108 Granite steps prepared for

this in one side corner of the temple.Then the abhisheka and Gour arati.

 

We need to chant five hundred and eighty thousand rounds to complete one

billion names.That means we need to chant approx. twelve thosand rounds per

week.In the first two weeks since we began, we finished some twenty five

thousand rounds easily making the target of tweleve thousand rounds per

week.We announced any one who finishes 108 rounds gets one Gujarati

Bhagavad Gita as it is free.Alreday we have given out more than fifty

gitas.It is so nice to see ordinary people getting addicted to chant the

Holy Names.

 

We also completed a five day kirtan festival and Ratahyatra on Ramanavami.

There are many institutions like Swami Narayans and Rama Krsna Mission which

are more trusted by people for material welfare work and rightly so,but it

is so wonderful to be entrusted with the Holy Name by Krsna Himself and His

pure devotees.Indeed it is the prime benediction for humanity at large.It is

the wealth of Goloka Vrindavan and only those elegible to be residents of

Goloka can appreciate it.

Hope you will keep praying for the afflicted souls of Kuccha ,Gujarat and

that will be their best bet.Thank you.
