Guest guest
Dear Prahaladananda Swami, Please accept my humble obeisances. I was really shocked and surprised to see the allegations made against me. I am more surprised that you are writing against me in all the public conferences. We have known each other for almost nine years and have been meeting each other almost every year discussing the health projects for devotees. So if some people are complaining against me, you could have at least asked me if the allegations are true, before making it public and defaming me. I am unable to understand why a person of your intelligence would do that. And I still do not understand what is my fault. I am doing this conference on COM for more than three years and giving free consultations to people. Thousands of devotees have been benefitted and I have hundreds of letters of appreciation from devotees whom I have helped. If necessary I can post these letters for everyone to see. Regarding the allegations you made against me, here are my replies. THE FIRST ALLEGATION YOU MADE: >1. That he overcharges devotees. It is a well known fact that ever since I started my Clinic in Vrindavan (more than nine years now), I have been giving free consultations. Not only FREE CONSULTATIONS, whenever possible I have been giving free medicines to many devotees belonging to local (ISKCON Vrindavan) temple. I rarely chaged the gurukula children and staff for medicines and even if I charged, the charges were always nominal. In nine year, this is the first time I am hearing that "I overcharge devotees". Many Ayurvedic doctors have come and gone in ISKCON, some of them were even told to leave because they did not go right things. But I have been serving for nine years without a break. This itself indicates that devotees are happy with my services. Whenever people have ordered medicines, I give them a price in advance. And I never force them to buy medicines in the first place. First I generally try with diet, life styles and simple home remedies. Ony if the disease is very chronic and difficult I would advise to buy medicines. I have hundreds of letters of proof to support all what I am saying here. I am sure you remember that when we met in Copenhegan more than a year ago, I gave you "Free Medicines" and then you ordered those medicines again from Melbourne. I sent you a few months supply and did not even charge the mailing charges. YOUR SECOND ALLEGATION: >2. Has sent expensive medicine without a proper diagnosis. I do not really understand what you are trying to say in this point. In your another message you had written the following: > When I recently visited Australia, I met a devotee, Jagannatha >Misra, who had sponsored Dr. Chauhan to give seminars in Spain. His wife >suffers from cancer and when Dr. Chauhan learned of her condition he sent >Jagannatha Misra medicines without inquiring as to what type of cancer she >has. He also charged him money that Jagannatha Misra could hardly afford to >pay. Needless to say, Jagannatha Misra simply returned the medicine. Again I am bit surprised that why you did not ask me about this case, before making this allegation. Anyway I can only say that most of this is false. I am also surprised that Jagannatha Mishra is making these false accusations. I have helped him on so many ocassions. Here are some of the letters between me and Jaganatha Mirsha. ---------- ------ In reference with your visit to Spain I would like to know if from 1 to 7 July is OK for you.I thank you for your counsel on varicose veins. Actually I began the treatment of 7 days fruit fast. Jagannatha Mishra das --------------------- > We are following the diet you gave us for quite a long time and taking > medicine you send, but Arjuna is evacuating half OK and the other half very soft. > Thank you very much ----- I do not understand how Jagannath Mishra can complain that I give medicines without making proper diagnosis. PLEASE SEE HERE WHAT I HAVE ADVISED FOR HIS SON: ------- Jagannatha Mishra wrote: >Another thing is that a dermatologist has seen a mole near the neck in our >little son Arjun. It has been diagnosticated "probable Nevus Displasicus" >He wants to remove it by surgery. He says that surgery must be done because he has >only one mole in the body and that is sufficient reason. >He says there is 20 per cent possibility of beign a tumor and so we must >extract and do a laboratory finding. >What is your opinion? MY REPLY: It will be very difficult for me to suggest anything without seeing the mole. If it is not giving much trouble I would suggest that you wait till I come there. After seeing it I will be able to advise accordingly. But if you feel it some emergency case, you can go for the surgery. ---------- ------ I have a lot of letters from Jaganatha Mishra (more than 15) and I do not want to post them all, but if necessary I can post them all and prove that this allegation is completely baseless. Regarding his wife: I had checked her thouroughly in Spain. Later I even suggested that if necessary she should go for the surgery and even radio therapy. I even suggested him to go to another doctor to make cross check about the diagnosis, which he did (PLEASE NOTE THESE POINTS FROM HIS LETTER BELOW). ---------- -- At 8:52 PM 9/17/98, "COM: Jagannatha Mishra NSM" Jagannatha.Mishr wrote: >As per your recommendation, we already contrasted the opinion and we >obtained the same diagnosis. >The operation will take place next Monday or Tuesday. (Dr.Partap's reply) : As you have already fixed the operation, so you can go ahead with that. Also there is no harm in trying the radiotherapy for some time. ---------- -------- Jaganath Mishra NEVER ORDERED MEDICINES FOR CANCER FROM ME: See his letter below: ---------- ------ >They say that after operation steps to enhance immunity are to be taken to >prevent further grow. >We want to begin to take medicine for increase immunity as soon as posible, >even if we have to pay special delivery mail service (please tell us the >amount to pay). (Dr.Partap's reply): Please do not worry I will send her a two months supply and it will cost USD 110 including all the charges (mailing, handling etc.). I am preparing a special medicine for Yukari which will include some special ingredients like pearls, corals, gold and diamnond ashes. I am sure she will be all right. Please tell her not to worry and keep strong. This is a minor operation (surgery) and she will be all right. ---------- -------- ABOUT THE PRICE OF THE MEDICINES: You are saying that I charged the money which he could hardly afford. This is not true. He never told me that he could not afford. In stead he had written in the letter above that he was ready to receive the medicines even by "SPECIAL MAIL DELIVERY SERVICE" which is more than double of normal mailing charges. This proves he could very well afford it, even through special mail. I did tell him the price for two months of medicines, which is not at all expensive, even by Indian standards, for the kind of medicines I had advised. But I never forced him and he never told me that he could not afford that amount. AND EVEN THE FOLLOWING LETTER DOES NOT SHOW THAT I FORCED HIM TO BUY THE MEDCINES OR HE WAS NOT ABLE TO AFFORD IT. ---------- Jaganath Mishra wrote: Yesterday I did the money transfer directly to your account. It took me some time to get a bank that does that without charging much. I would like to ask you for some diet for Yukari according to her circumstances. Also what can she take as natural antibiotic. Also, what can we put in the scars to help healing up?. Which green feafy vegetables can she take now? She has coagulated mass in the throaty (surgeon say normal). They had advised to take aspirin (one per day during two months) for this. What you advise? Thank you so much, ---------- - I HAVE SO MANY LETTERS FROM JAGANATHA MISHRA WHICH SHOW HOW I WAS HELPING HIM ALMOST ON DAILY BASIS BY GIVING WHATEVER ADVICES I COULD. I WAS TRYING MY BEST TO KEEP THEIR MORALE HIGH. YOUR THIRD ALLEGATION: >3. Is intimately connected (disciple) with Hari Das Sastri and Satya >Narayana dasa who establish an organization which preaches that the acaryas >in ISKCON from Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura to our Srila Prabhupada are not >bona fide. This is true that I am disciple of Hari Das Sastri and a brother of Satya Narayana Das. But what does that has to do with my being an Ayurvedic doctor helping the sick devotees? Why do you want to stop me from helping the sick devotees because I am brother of Satya Narayana?? I think most GBCs,(including yourself) and most devotees know this for more than nine years that I am Satya Narayana's brother. But because I am surrendered to my duty of serving the Vaisnavas (devotees), I continued to do so, even aftr SND left ISKCON, about three years ago. Jiva Institue has no such goal as to discredit ISKCON Acaryas. If anybody can prove that allegation about Jiva Institue, I am ready accept whatever punishment you give. I feel we are all Vaisnavas basically, members of the same family and we should be working co-operatively to make the mission of Lord Caitanya successful. Of course my role in this whole situation is to help (through Ayurveda) the wonderful devotees engaged in Krsna's service and I will continue to do this service throughout my life. This is all I have to say. I am leaving on a trip to Japan in two days and this thing has caused a great mental setback to me. I am feeling so much humilation due to the false charges made against me, that I can hardly concentrate my mind on the trip. I am afraid I am going to face a big loss due this. Kindly help me by clearing out my position and give your blessings so that I can regain my strength to work. Hari Hari! Kaviraj Partap S.Chauhan.
