Looking for something to do this Memorial Day Weekend (May 27 - 29)? Please consider attending the 9th Annual Srila Prabhupada Festival in New Dvaraka. In addition to the great association, prasadam and harinams, this year there will be a series of seminars presented. These seminars are intended to enlighten and enliven temple and congregational devotees in the U.S. Western Region. However, all are welcome to attend. Bhakti Caru Maharaja's seminar will be held in the temple room. All other seminars will be held in the Gurukula (3745 Watseka, #3 - ground floor). There will be a $10 fee payable by all participants regardless of the number of seminars attended. The seminar lineup is as follows: 1. H.H. Bhakti Caru Swami -- The History of Our Vaisnava Heritage . . . All 3 days . . . (10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon) 2. H.G. Dravida Dasa -- Memorizing Nectar Slokas . . . Saturday & Monday . . .. (2:00 to 3:30 p.m.) Srila Prabhupada's books contain a wealth of verses for preaching and personal bhajan. This seminar will teach 6 easy steps to memorizing slokas and the basic principles of Sanskrit prosody, or poetic meter. Attendees will learn selected verses from the Srimad-Bhagavatam and Sri Caitanya-caritamrta. All are welcome. 3. H.G. Kriya Sakti Devi Dasi -- Using Everything in Krsna's Service . . . Saturday & Monday . . . (2:00 to 3:30 p.m.) This seminar will explore the lives of Vaisnava Acaryas who were keen to use everything in Krsna's service and the resultant impact this had on benedicting the entire world with Krsna consciousness. 4. H.G. Anuttama Dasa -- Communications & Strategic Planning . . . Saturday & Monday . . . . (3:30 to 5:00 p.m.) Is your current preaching approach effective? Learn communications principles, audience segmentation, and much more from ISKCON's director of communications. The media-training segment includes individual, on-camera training. 5. H.G. Drutakarma Dasa -- Vedic Perspectives on Science . . . Saturday & Monday . . . (3:30 to 5:00 p.m.) Evolution, the Big Bang, Archeology, Consciousness… In two slide-illustrated lectures, you'll learn about the Vedic perspective on these topics and get a chance to discuss your favorite questions.
