Dear Devotees,

Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I am writing this letter appealing to you all for your blessings for

Savitri Devi, disciple of HH Bhakti Charu Swami, who is leaving her body due

to cancer.

Maharaj, who initially cancelled his scheduled trip to London of 13th July,

is now arriving in London on Sunday staying for 2 days only, especially to

be with Savitri mataji.

Since her illness has worsened, Savitri mataji has been displaying

astounding qualities of desiring only to hear Krishna katha and seeking

devotee association.

Her bedroom has been transfromed into a shrine with photo frames of various

Deities, Srila Prabhupada, Guru, Yamuna devi, Vrindavan and Govardhana Hill.

The entire atmosphere is surcharged with Krishna Consciousness.

Each week that we visited to read to her, we witnessed her body failing but

her spirit strengthening and her effulgence increasing.

Despite the trying time, her family would serve the vaisnavas. We would

never leave their home without being offered some prasadam. A mood that

Savitri mataji has maintained till now. She is always concerned about

serving the vaisnavas.

Yesterday, we went as usual to read to mataji, and were amazed at the amount

of devotees present at her home singing bhajans and coming to offer her

their blessings.

On her bedroom door is the sign " Savitri thanks you for coming and requests

you to chant with her." Imbibing her mood of wanting to hear only Krishna

katha.

Bhajans were being sung as we entered and Savitri mataji was immersed in

hearing the bhajans, reading and singing along.

She requested two of her favourite bhajans, Manase Deho Geho, and Gurudev

Kripa bindu diya...

After these were sung and the translations of the songs read, Savitri mataji

thanked everyone for coming. As devotees were saying their goodbyes, some

told her how much they envied her, some how much she is inspiring them and

some how much she has taught them...

In all the time that we visited and read at Savitri mataji, each week we

would learn of her deteriorating condition, her change of medication which

would have very severe reactions to her body but never have we ever heard

Savitri mataji ever lament.

Even last week when her cat "Ki Jay" left his body she informed us of how

the vet wanted to put him to sleep but they refused, how her son-in-law

Akincana put tulasi mala on for Ki Jay and he had tulasi leaves etc before

he died.

She was glorifying what a special soul he was to receive all this mercy from

the devotees. She did not lament at all.

She continually thanked us for coming and giving her association. Her words

to us last week were "I enjoy it so much when the devotees come."

When she found out that her Guru had cancelled his trip to London, her

family made arrangements for her to go to Mayapur as per her Guru Maharaj's

instructions. All bookings being made she was determined to go to India

following her gurus instructions.

But her condition has worsened, she is now in her last stages, only on

liquids. Her body weakening but her spirit and effulgence increasing....

Savitri mataji IS A VERY SPECIAL SOUL she is surrounded by devotees, HH

Vipramukya Maharaj and mother Kalangana have been to offer their prayers and

blessings to her, devotees are constantly going to give her association...

In light of her desire to obtain the mercy and blessings of all the

vaisnavas, I humbly appeal to you all to say a special prayer for her and

her family too.

Mine and my wife's life has been enriched by knowing Savitri mataji, we

pray that her desires be fulfilled...

Thanking you
