He plans to visit Brasil for further treatment by a renowned Christian "healer" and then, if the treatment proves ineffective, to spend his remaining days in Vrindavan, India. Doctors are saying that without surgery he may only live another three months. Tribhuvannatha Prabhu joined ISKCON at the end of 1969 and beginning of 1970. He served in various capacities including president of the London temple and president of ISKCON New Delhi. He also has done extensive preaching throughout India, England, Ireland, the Middle East and in more recent years Africa. He has been on the GBC waiting list to take sannyasa for several years and was recently the National Secretary of ISKCON UK and the temple president of the Birmingham, England temple. Until recently, when he learned of his disease, he was personally managing large Hare Krishna festivals all over England and Africa. He gave the first class ever given at Bhaktivedanta Manor in England in 1973 and has always been enthusiastic about harinama sankirtan. Today he gave what might be his last class at Bhaktivedanta Manor. This morning, after class, Tribhuvannatha Prabhu romanticized about his early days in the Hare Krishna Movement. "I vividly remember walking in Bury Place in London for the first time. I remember thinking I wasn't going to walk out. It was a very spiritual place. The devotees were serving popcorn and orange juice and invited me to take some. There was a lot of intense eagerness for this evening meal. I though it was amazing, even though it seemed a strange combination." Dhananjaya Prabhu, another early English devotee, showed Tribhuvannatha around the temple. "Dhananjaya showed him around the building. All the rooms were empty. There was no furniture. I was really attracted because of the monastic atmosphere. He took me to see the deities and I was completely mesmerized. Straight after arati everyone in the temple went out on Harinam at 8 PM at night. I went out with them, and they came back at 10 PM. I didn't want to go back. I wanted to stay but they said I had to come for Mangal Arati before they would let me stay. So I stayed up all night walking in the streets of London, and showed up for Mangal Arati. That was it. By 10 AM I was shaved up."
