HH Jayapataka Maharaja just attended the grand opening and Prana Pratishta

of Sri Sri Krsna-Balarama and Gaura-Nitai at the Vedic farm project in Bon

Accuiel MRU. He gave some wonderful classes, specificaly about the

importance of being fully commited to enthusiasticaly serving the Deities.

During the ecsatic Abhisheka ceremony in the huge pandal, HH quickly

arranged for all the assembled vaisnavas to split up into different

chanting groups. Some were reading from 12th Chapter of Bhagavad Gita,

Bramha Samhita, chanting Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya and mens and ladies

seperate kirtans etc. Some devotees were ringing bells and blowing conches.

The combined sound was tumultuous and extremely auspicious.......Wow!

 

As the beautifull ceremony continued the sound gradually evolved into a

melodious kirtan led by HH BB Govind Maharaja who also gave the Prime

Minster of Mauritius Mr N. Ramgoolam a guided tour of the new Temple complex

concluding with a final darshan of the Deities on the alter. Later the MBC

News broadcasted around two and half minutes of the programme including

exerpts from the Premiers speech, which was quite immpressive, all at peek

viewing time. It concluded with reminding words that his father (Prime

Minister), the late Seewasagar Ramgoolam had personaly invited Srila

Prabhupada to visit Mauritius 25 years ago and bless the island with his

presence and to bring the Hare Krishna movement there for the ongoing

spiritual upliftment of the Mauritiun people. He stated that Mauritius was

the only country in the world where the head of state had personally invited

Srila Prabhupada to come and spread Krsna consciousness.

 

Also in attendance were HH Lokanath Swami, HH Indradymna Swami, HH Amiya

Vilas Swami, HH Veda Vyasa Priya Swami, Bhakti Vidya Purna Swami and five of

his yajna pandits. Dina Bandhu prabhu also added his own unique Brijbasi

brand of kirtan to top off the festive occasion.

 

All the Maharajas and prabhus gave a special appreciation for HG Sriniketana

and Arjuna prabhus for their undaunting commitment to the Vedic farm project

and Mauritius Yatra. All glories to their super excellent devotional

service! Srila Prabhupada must be very pleased with these two great souls.
