ISKCON Poland's Premier Preaching Program Invites International Participants

Indradyumna Swami, the head of the Polish Festival tour, expects between

2000 and 10,000 people to attend Hare Krsna festivals six nights a week

during a four-month tour starting May 26.

Back on Polish soil for an 11th year of summer festivals Indradyumna Swami

says entertaining thousands of guests each night requires a dedicated team

of devotees. "There are almost unlimited services such as acting, cooking,

loading our many tons of equipment, setting up the stage, tents and exhibits

on the festival site, festival security and, of course, singing and dancing

on our 60-person harinama party."

The tour is divided into three parts. This year the Spring Tour will run

from May 10th to June 22nd, the Summer Tour from June 23rd to the August 2nd

and Woodstock, August 9th to the 11th. Dates for a proposed Fall Tour are

still unconfirmed.

The Swami already has a team of 120 devotees, enough to cover the services

on the Spring Tour. However he is eager for all the helping hands he can get

for the Summer Tour, focused on elevating millions of vacationers

concentrated in small towns along the Baltic Sea coast. Padayatra Europe

will advertise the festivals, walking the breadth of the coast. Prominent

ISKCON leaders, including Bhakti Caru Swami, Tamal Krsna Goswami, Trivakrama

Swami and Candra Mauli Swami, have already confirmed their participation in

the Summer Tour. Others are expected to join for the most crucial period,

the Polish Woodstock from August 9-11.

"Woodstock will be the crowning event of the summer preaching effort," said

Indradyumna Swami. "An estimated 400,000 energetic young people will be

there. As in previous years, a literal Krsna village of tents will be set up

at a prominent location on the grounds. The main tent, the size of an

American football field holds up to 10,000 kids at a time. All will be able

to take part in kirtana, lectures, plays, and concerts by Undrop, Shelter

and Village of Peace. Over the three days, we plan to distribute 60,000

plates of prasadam."
