Dear Maharajas and Prabhus,

 

Please aaccept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

 

The 33rd annual London Rathayatra will be held on Sunday 24th June.

 

The procession will start at 12 noon from North Carriage Drive in Hyde Park

(5 minutes walk from Marble Arch underground station).

 

The route will be North Carriage Drive - Park Lane - Piccadilly - Haymarket

- Trafalgar Square.

 

 

In the CC Mad.13.19 purport we find the following reference to Trafalgar

Square:

 

In the year 1973 there was a gorgeous Ratha-yatra festival in London,

England, and the car was brought to Trafalgar Square. The London daily

newspaper the Gardian published a front-page photo caption: "ISKCON

Ratha-yatra is rival to the Nelson Column in Trafalgar Square." The Nelson

Column is a very impressive statue of Lord Nelson and can be seen from a

good distance. Just as the residents of Puri compared the Ratha-yatra car

to Mount Sumeru, the residents of London considered the car rival to the

Nelson Monument.

 

At Trafalgar Square there will be a feast and various preaching events.

There will be a grand finale kirtan from 4.30 - 5.30 when Their Lordships

return to Their Temple.

The snana-yatra bathing ceremony of Lord Jagannatha will take place in the

Temple room of The Radha Krishna Temple at 10 am on Sunday 10th June.

Everyone is welcome to bath the Lord.

All best wishes for a wonderfully successful Rathyatra Festival. In '73,

Srila Prabhuypada danced the entires route of the parade rather than riding

on the cart as was originally plannedd!
