Dear Devotees

Please accept my humble obeisances

All glories to Srila Prabhupada

ICJ Volume 8, No.1 is now available on the internet at

www.iskcon.com.

Of particular interest are the transcripts of the Women's

Ministry presentations to this year's GBC meetings. Accompanying

these is a short history of women in ISKCON and a report on the

GBC resolutions that these presentations led to.

A short article about these presentations can also be seen in the

news section of www.iskcon.com along with a copy of the cover

letter from Ravindra Svarupa Prabhu that accompanied the hard

copies of the Journal asking all ISKCON devotees to assist in the

implementation of the resolutions in their individual centres.

Also of interest in the journal:

Kenneth Cracknell — ISKCON and Interfaith Dialogue: A glowing

report on why ISKCON, as a personalist tradition, is an ideal

dialogue partner for Christians wanting to understand Hinduism.

E. Burke Rochford Jr — Analysing ISKCON for Twenty-five Years: A

personal reflection by a concerned 'outsider' on where ISKCON is

and isn't going.

Ravindra Svarupa Dasa — Restoring the Authority of the GBC: Based

on a talk given at an ICE (ISKCON Communications Europe) meeting

in Oxford.

Hridayananda Dasa Goswami — The Role of the Guru in a Multi-Guru

Society: A reply to a letter from Dr Rahul Peter Das.

Ithamar Theodor (Isvara Krsna Dasa) — A Philosophy of Development

for ISKCON: The Bhagavad-gita as a guide to spiritual

advancement, as individuals and as a society.

Also there are responses to ISKCON's interfaith statement (ISKCON

in Relation to People of Faith in God), conference reports and

book reviews.

If you would like to to ICJ and keep all this good

stuff at your fingertips, please drop me a line. Otherwise we

usually put it online about six months after the initial

publication date (this one was put up early due to delayed

publication and the quality of the content).

Happy reading.

Your servant

Bhakta Lyall
