New Delhi, INDIA

Dear Vaisnavas and Vaisnavis,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

On August 6, 2001, Hrishikesh das, 24, an aspiring disciple of HH Jayapataka

Swami, left his body in a car accident on the way from Sri Vrindavan to New

Delhi.

Hrishikesha prabhu was the only son of his parents, initiated disiples of HH

Jayapataka Swami, living in Assam. He was extremely humble and gentle

Vaisnava, loved by all, strict to himself and very lenient to others. He was

obviously a devotee from his birth, chanting Hare Krishna on beads from the

age of 6, and completely fasting every Ekadasi. He was a very dynamic

preacher, and distributed a lot of Srila Prabhupada's books in Assam.

Half way from Vrindavan to New Delhi, at Palwal, the car with him and three

other devotees from New Delhi temple lost control and ran into a tree at 120

km/h. Hrishikesha prabhu got very serious liver and brain internal damages

and soon lost consciousness. When transported to the nearby Diamond

hospital, Hrishikesh prabhu remained in deep coma, but 15 minutes before

before his departure he came back to senses, sighed out "Radhe Radhe" and

fainted again. As his atma was living the body through the mouth with his

last breath, Amar Krsna prabhu from the Delhi temple was chanting Hare

Krishna to his ear.

His furneral ceremony will be held tomorrow in Sri Vrindavan Dham. We are

begging all devotees to remember Hrishikesh prabhu in their prayers so he

could attain the shelter of Lord Krishna's lotus feet.

On behalf of devotees of Sri Sri Radha-Parthasarathi temple.

Your servant,

Madana-mohana das
