Guest guest
Dear devotees! Please, accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! Please, forgive us for troubling you, but we are in the state of emergency. On the 9th of October from 11 to12 a.m. the Deity of the Lord Nrsimhadeva was stolen from the temple of the Krasnodar city. It happened under the following circumstances. About 3 a.m. a man came to the temple. He is about 30 years old, 160-165 cm in height. He is of sturdy build. He looks like an Uzbek with the long and curly black hair, done in a tail at the back of the head like a hippie. He introduced himself as a treasure-seeker, who was recommended by the devotees from Kazan to call at the temple to stay overnight or to have dinner in case of need. He behaved in a good way and nobody noticed strange signs. The devotees believed even more that he was a professional treasure-seeker, when he showed his album with photos, articles, etc. about treasures. The album was made in a professional way. He was given prasadam and led to the temple-room. After the morning program he helped to peel potatoes and associated with the devotees. Then everybody went for sankirtana. In the temple there were only two elderly mataji-pujari (they had a rest in their room) and a cook who cooked in the kitchen. The leaders of the temple were in Sochi at the meeting with HH Prabhavisnu Swami. This swindler took advantage of the situation and stole the Deity. After 12 a.m. the pujaris came to the altar and found out the theft. They called the police at once who came in about 15 minutes. They drew up a report, wrote down the data and the distinctive marks of the man and promised to find him. When they accepted him, the guard on duty asked him for documents. He showed a Xerox copy of some passport of TUIGIEV ANVAR, BORN 18.11.1969 IN THE VILLAGE OF KUKTEKA OF THE PAYARYKSK AREA OF THE SAMARKAND REGION. Of course, the copy can be fabricated. Unfortunately, the guard didn't pay attention to the fact that the Xerox copy wasn't a document. I was informed about the incident afterwards. Immediately I went to our acquaintances from the police department of the krai/territory and asked them to help us in the search of the thieve. They promised to help. Dear devotees, especially the leaders of the yatras, please, take urgent measures of the protection of the Deities in your temples and pay earnest attention to strange fellows coming to the temple. Very probably that very soon somebody will come to you and offer you to buy the Deity of Nrsimhadeva. It's very serious. The matter is that the similar theft took place in Sochi some months ago. The Deities of Sri Sri Gaura Nitai were stolen there. Some time later a man offered the devotees to buy the Deities for 7,000 rubles. The devotees refused referring to the lack of money. After that there were several attempts to steal the Deities from the Krasnodar temple but they were suppressed. The thieves managed to run away twice. Soon the bars were put on all the windows of the temple except the altar. We are convinced that this is the handiwork of one and the same band. Therefore be extremely watchful, if you are suddenly offered to buy Deities. Please, don't refuse because of the lack of money and try to detain the "sellers" and inform the police. We humbly beg senior devotees to write us what we should do. The devotees in Krasnodar are very upset and need your support. We are aware that the Lord doesn't go away for any particular reason. Evidently, we committed some serious offense if the Lord left us. We feel helpless and don't know what steps to take in order to understand our mistakes and neutralize them. Please, pray for us and give your pieces of advice and blessings so that we could purify ourselves and get the Lord back. We weep bitterly hoping for your mercy. Your servants, the devotees of the Krasnodar yatra. ÝÏ 710 îò 28/11/
