An open letter to the leaders of the Hare Krishna Movement

Dear Maharajas and Prabhus,

 

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

 

 

The demoniac nature has attacked again, and this time causing what may be

the most tragic event of the century.

 

I work for a company who had thousands of employees working at the WTC and I

am directly involved with the entire thing.

 

The media is reporting that every major religious organization is offering

help. I have not heard the name of our organization on the list, although I

admit I may have missed it.

 

It is our religious and social obligation to help in this tragic situation

and the quicker we act the better. I don't think there is any need to worry

about who will pay for the expenses, since the US Government is releasing up

to $40 billion for this purpose. If we do it right, the money will be

there.

 

Here are some suggestions:

 

1 - A direct letter to president Bush and all major authorities offering

help.

2 - Massive prasadam distribution at the site

3 - Professional signs made: "Hare Krishnas for a Safer America" or "We are

with you Mr. President and Fellow Americans" something like that.

4 - T-Shirts or Bright Vests should be made immediately with similar phrases

and all devotees participating in this relief effort should wear them.

 

We must be there to help. It is a must.

 

I read the article on Chakra about "New York ISKCON Okay After Terrorist

Attack" and this is very nice. We are happy to know the devotees are safe.

However, this entire place is our temple and there may be no better

opportunity for us and the rest of the world to realize this.
