Guest guest
Dear Maharajas and Prabhus Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Day 26. Lohavan to Dauji. Dauji Mandir. There is a deity of Lord Balarama here which was installed by Vajranabha, the great grand son of Krsna. It is the largest deity in Vraj. Facing the deity and hidden from view is the deity of Balarama's wife, Revati. Dauji, another name for Lord Balarama, means, "Older brother". Kshira Sagar Kund. Kshira Sagar means the "sea of milk". This kund was constructed by the residents of Vraja, when they filled it with milk from 100,000 cows as an offering to Balarama. During the Muslim invasions the Dauji deity was placed in the Kshirasagara kund. Gokul Nath Goswami had a dream that the deity was in the pond and later He was rediscovered. HH Lokanath Swami: "Lord Balarama has given us the spiritual strength to come this far on the parikrama. We cannot do this Vraja Mandala Parikrama by physical strength alone. We should pray to Lord Balarama to help us complete this journey, as well as the journey through this life, with all it's difficulties, in the correct spiritual consciousness". Day 27. Dauji to Brahmandghat. Chintaharan. A very pleasant and peaceful place located on the eastern side of the Yamuna. Here there is a Lord Siva temple with a Siva Linga. It is believed that all anxieties are removed or taken away simply by worshiping Sivaji here. Mother Yashoda worshipped Lord Siva here. Brahmandghat. This is a part of Mother Yashoda's courtyard where Krsna ate dirt. Mother Yashoda forced Him to open His mouth. She wanted to see whether He had really eaten clay. Krsna opened His mouth and He revealed the entire cosmic manifestation to her. "My dear son, why have you eaten earth? Just see, all your friends including your own brother, Balarama are complaining about you." Being afraid of His mother, Krsna replied, "Mother, all these boys including My elder brother Balarama, are speaking lies against Me. I have never eaten clay."
