Guest guest
The BBC is conducting a nationwide poll of the greatest Briton in history. This vote has been widely publicised on BBC TV. A couple of days ago I received an email from the Executive Producer of Religious Broadcasting at the BBC WS suggesting we choose someone out of the usual mould of celebrity. Everyone was talking about the usual suspects - Winston Churchill, David Beckham, Princess Di, Margaret Thatcher (?!) etc. Then George died, and it suddenly struck me: perhaps Lord Krishna has taken away His greatest "British" devotee to glorify him as the greatest Briton of all time? But because materialists define "greatness" according to material values, George probably won't win, despite the nation riding on a wave of Diana-like sentimentality following his death. But surely he should be called the "greatest Briton" for the service he gave to the world's greatest Acarya in broadcasting the glories of the Supreme Lord? You can vote for George Harrison at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/programmes/greatbritons/nominate.shtml Hare Krishna. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
