Dear Devotees

 

Today is a very auspicious day, The appearance day of Sri Narasimhadev. In

Mayapur there were so many programs on this occasion. Morning there was

Srimad Bhagavatam class given by H.H. Jayapataka Swami Maharaja and

H.H.Subhog Swami Maharaja in Bengali. In English the Bhagavatam class was

given by H.H. Bhakti Vidya Purna Maharaja and H.H. Jayapataka Swami

Maharaja. The Bhagavatam classes were on the topic of the appearance of Sri

Narasimhadev. The devotees were requested to follow no grain prasadam

because Mayapur have the installed deities of Sri Narasimhadev.

 

This was also a very special ocasion since this year finaly the desire to

offer 108 Shalagramshila Garland (in silver) by HH Jayapataka Swami was

fulfilled, thanks to a couple of devotees (Lila Madhava & Sarvasakti ) who

brought the Shalagrams from the Himalaya and today morning this was the main

celebration.

 

Afternoon at 3 pm Sri Sri Prahlad Narasimhadev was bathed by different

fragranced oils. Asta-gandha is known as eight different fragrace of oils

mixed in sesame oil. The different fragrances are Krishna Musk, Aguru,

Jatamamsi, Camphor oil, Sandalwood oil, Khus oil, Saffron oil and Gorocana.

These fragrances are original ones with cooling power some of them.

 

Thousands gathered for this great celebration, Different kind of

preparations with fruits and yogurt and other preparations were offered to

the lord making this ceremony very atractive to all the devotees as well

different kind of flowers and tulsi leaves were offered after, making the

Lord looks in a very original form. ( please see pics) all these activities

were going on while nonstop kirtan was performed by the best singers of Sri

Mayapur Candrodaya Mandir.

 

At night all the devotees were waiting to see the Lord in his new dress that
