Guest guest
Dear Prabhus: Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. I just got off the phone with Chloe's mom, Emily. Chloe had a heavy, heavy day yesterday and all of our prayers are still needed. I told Emily that I have been hearing from devotees around America, in England, Australia and India. She's overwhelmed. Yesterday, Chloe's white blood cell count was up, indicating some infection. One tack they took was to take out her IV lines, etc, to ensure everthing was clean. As they went to put her IV back into her neck, someone nicked her aorta. This caused internal bleeding into her chest cavity - litres and litres of blood. She was taken into surgery to have it removed, and given a 4 litre blood transfusion along with plasma. They had to fight to keep her blood pressure up - in fact, they had to shock her into having her heart restart. Later they found plugs in her lungs and had to clear those out by something going in there through her throat and into the lungs. (Sorry I'm not more technical) She's back in her room, and still fighting. Two toes are definitely going, possibly up to the first joint, and looks like the tips of others. For now, they're just keeping an eye on them, watching out for infection. I guess they leave them as long as possible since it'll be another trauma to her body to fix them. Her kidney doctor says she'll be on dialysis for a month - the kidneys being the last thing to regain function. So, it's going to be a long, hard haul, and we're still not at the point of being assured of recovery. Emily says she's just glad that she's still in ICU with Chloe, because yesterday she thought she was going to lose her. She says she loves us all and begs us to double up on our prayers. Thank you for your support. Your servant, Madhumati devi dasi
