Guest guest
Dear Maharajas, Prabhus, and Matajis, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. I got inspired by a message that Romapada Swami just posted. I drafted this two part message and I'm wondering what you all think of the idea of posting it (or something similar to it) on COM, Chakra, etc. I'm have not dealt with many alumni who have been abused so I sending this message to a lot of devotees who might know whether it is an appropriate approach to dealing with this problem. It might be very effective, but because these issues are so sensitive from a Mayapur administrative standpoint we want to be sure. If this proposal flys the Mayapur management would have to discuss whether they can provide accommodations and free parikrama fees. In the last two years the MIHE has offered its courses to gurukula alumni tuition free, and we have had a total of about 20 alumni take advantage of this program. So we are probably not talking about a lot of alumni. If by consensus the general idea seems appropriate, maybe someone more elequent than myself would like to write the invitation. Comments please. Thank you for your consideration. Your servant, Janmastami dasa Message one: Dear Gupta Prabhu and gurukula alumni who hopefully will read this message, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Thank you for your heartfelt message. > For years, innumerable devotees have expressed the view that the "real" > ISKCON is actually the totality of Srila Prabhupada followers -- not just > the official institution. Now is the time for that ISKCON -- that is, for > all Srila Prabhupada followers -- to reach out, to listen, and to connect > with those who were abused. As it never was just an institutional problem > so it can never be just an institutional solution. > > So let's all play a role -- in whatever way we are each individually > inspired -- to reach out -- now -- in a loving way to all those who were > abused. Let's all cooperate together to bring an end to this problem as > our Krishna Conscious philosophy teaches us -- in a personal way. Such > personal action alone will end this unfortunate chapter in the history of > our Mission. That would be real closure. In a very personal way we would like to invite all gurukula alumni to attend the upcoming Mayapur Gaura Purnima Festival and the Mayapur Institute of Higher Education (MIHE) courses. This year's festival will be without festival fees and the prasadam will be free for everyone. All 2002 MIHE courses are tuition free for gurukula alumni. We will also provide free accommodation and no parikrama fees for gurukula alumni. This may sound like an institutional solution, but when you, the gurukula alumni, come to Mayapur we will extend our ears, our hearts, and our love to help heal the wounds. Please come to Mayapur this year and experience the ecstacy of the association of devotees in Sri Mayapur Dhama. We have posted the schedules and details of the courses in the following message.
