Some time back on one pamho or maybe com conference a letter or conversation was posted wherein one Sanyasi in the old New York temple (skyscraper) wanted to throw out the grihastas, and Srila Prabhupada very exhaustingly explained why he wanted that they should be allowed to stay. The argument was something like: This is a temple and we dont know what the grihastas are doing in the roomd, and Prabhupada was saying that we have used gallons of spiritual blood to make them devotees and if we ask them to leave, we may loose them, and we dont want to do that.
