In Houston Texas Goverdhan Puja is always a very big festival. Giri

Goverdhan a sila of Goverdhan hill kindly resides here. the festival was

great-H.H. Guna Ghrahi Maharaja spoke of the glories of Krishna and his

mercy to Indra...great Kirtan etc.but all I want to talk about was the huge

feast-over 1600 preparations..the alter was overflowing-it looked like a

flood and the dam had burst. The pujaris had trouble finding all the

offerings to be transported to the prasadam hall. I helped and from the

temple would point out an item that was hidden behind a flower or deity

that had been left behind. We all became intoxicated from the prasadam-on

the scale the next day I had gained 2 lbs.
