ISKCON JUHU CELEBRATES MAKAR SANKRANTI AND JAGANNATH RATH YATRA

 

 

The day 14th January 2004, marks the auspicious day when Srila Prabhupada

installed Sri Sri Radha Rasabihari 26 years ago. On occasion of Makar

Sankranti, ISKCON Juhu distributed about 45,000 plates of hot prasadam meals

in different parts of Mumbai to underprivileged people. Also thousands of

packets of peanut and sugar candy and til laddos were distributed to

citizens of Mumbai.

 

Devotees and well-wishers at ISKCON Juhu (Sri Sri Radha Rasabihari Temple),

Mumbai organized its 24th annual Lord Jagannath, Baladev and Subhadra devi

Rath yatra festival on 16 January 2004. His Excellency Governor of Uttar

Pradesh, Vishnukant Shastri inaugurated the Lord Jagannath Rath yatra parade

by sweeping the floor in front of Rath. He also spoke about the benefits of

chanting the Holy Names of Lord. HH Gopal Krishna Goswami, HH Sridhar Swami,

HH Loknatha Swami, HH Radhanath Swami, HH Navayogendra Swami and HH

Chandramauli Swami spoke about the glories of Lord Jagannath.

 

A three-day Hare Krishna festival is organized from 16 - 18 Jan 2004. It

shall include lectures, kirtans, drama, cultural program, harinam, Chappan

bhoga offerings to Lord, children's program, aratis and delicious prasadam

meals for everyone.
