Guest guest
Dear Devotees, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. The new Kirtan Ashram for ISKCON widows and vanaprasthis is now open for temporary (six weeks) and short-term (three months) residence. Only ISKCON sadhakas in female bodies (sadhakis??) will be considered. (Please note that you need not be a widow or a vanaprasthi for short-term residence at the Kirtan Ashram.) Kindly apply to Parsada devi dasi when you arrive at the Krishna-Balaram Mandir. You will find her at the "Information Center" within the temple compound. We will also consider email applications. Please send them to Parsada at <ISKCON.vrindavan (AT) pamho (DOT) net> with copy to <visakha.priya.grs (AT) pamho (DOT) net> Thank you for your consideration. May this find you well. Your servant, Visakha Priya dasi
Tulasi Devi
Dear fellow sadhakis, Just a humble warning that your experience at Kirtan Ashram may not be as blissful as you perhaps hope it will be. I stayed there recently, arriving full of hope that I would be entering a sattvik and nurturing environment, only to find myself sorely disappointed at the harsh, impersonal treatment I received. I am not the only one. A Russian mataji who stayed there six years ago felt uncomfortable visiting me there because she still remembered feeling humiliated by the critical and unwelcoming attitude of the management. Some female disciples of Srila Prabhupada checked in at one point, which really pleased me, but they soon checked out, finding that their requests for simple services (such as curtains on a window) were met with indifference, and even derision. Please think twice before you consider staying here. It definitely does not live up to the ideal
