Sridhar Swami Update

After a long and arduous 22 hour flight plus a four hour stop over in

Frankfurt and extended ground time at the airport customs & immigration and

hospital waiting lounge Sirdhar Swami is finally, some 30 plus plus hours

later, admitted into the Vancouver General hospital.

 

On route, the airline attendents were so concerned about his health that

they made a public annoucement asking for a doctor on board the aircrft to

examine Maharaj. Two came forward and one even suggested that he do an

emergency operation to relieve the swelling due to fluid. It was also

suggested that an abulence be waiting for him when the plane landed.

Neither was done and a very exhausted swami walked off the plane on his own

energy.

 

When he finally did arrive his brother took him immediately to the hospital

and Garga Muni prabhu, his travelling servant, and I went back to the ashram

with his luggage to set up his residencey at the temple. After unpacking

some things that maharaja wuld need while in the hospital we went back to

the hosptial.

 

Upon our return to the hospital, we found Maharaja still waiting in the

lounge to be admitted. His sister was there with him. After some more

waiting he was finally examined and admitted. This was somewhere near

midnight local time. Despite this whole exhausting and time consuming ordeal

maharaj remained in good spirits.

The following morning he was temporarily in a common holding area waiting

for a semi private room which he was given later that same morning.

 

I spoke with him this afternoon. H reported that the doctors had drained the

excess fluid. He was sounding much stronger.

 

We dont know how long he will initally be in the hosptial but we are

thinking a few days. He has a hosptial phone by his bed where he can be

reached from 8AM - 10 PM Pacific Standard Time. The number is 604-875-5400
