Remembrance celebration of HH Sridhara Maharaja: Part 1

MAYAPUR. Monday, March 15, 2004.

Today, HH Gunagrahi Maharaja, HH Sivarama Maharaja and HH BB Govinda

Maharaja, as well as, two of HH Sridhara Maharaja's brothers from his

purvasrama (that is, biological brothers), Bhakta Stuart and Malcolm, had

come to Mayapur.

In brief, this is what happened today:

8:00 AM. Remembrances at Radha Madhava temple hall. There was a Vyasasana in

the hall and Mayapur Prabhu placed there a newly framed photograph of HH

Sridhara Maharaja. The master of ceremonies for this occasion was Hari Sauri

Prabhu. This session began with a Jaya Radha Madhava bhajan led by HH

Lokanath Maharaja, followed by a slow and sweet bhajan of Ye anilo

prema-dhana led by HH BB Govinda Maharaja. A 20 minute lecture of HH Sridhar

Maharaja reportedly entitled "Be serious in sadhana", originally given in

Brazil on September 2003 was then played. Then followed remembrances and

appreciations of HH Sridhara Maharaja. This concluded with a guru-puja of HH

Sridhar Maharaja at about 1:15 PM.

2:00 PM. Feast for all devotees at Sulabh kitchen behind Srila Prabhupada's

Puspa-samadhi Mandir. This was in honor of Srila Sridhar Maharaja, it was

sponsored by ISKCON Juhu, Mumbai.

5:00 PM. Bhajans and more remembrances at HH Bhakti Caru Maharaja's

quarters. This ended at about 9:30 PM.

I have handwritten summaries of the lecture given by HH Sridhar Maharaja

which was replayed in the morning as well as the talks given by HH Sridhar

Maharaja's Godbrothers and disciples, both in the morning and in the

evening. As it is very late, I don't have time or energy to type up the

summaries right now for posting. However, I plan to type up and post them,

part by part, tomorrow (Tuesday 16 March 2004).

All glories to Srila Prabhupada, and his dear dedicated disciple HH Sridhar

Maharaja!

Your servant,

Vidvan Gauranga das
