Guest guest
Dear Devotees, Hare Krishna! The third replication of the Srila Prabhupada DVD Library is selling briskly. We expect that it will be sold out by the end of the year. Therefore, we are preparing to invest in version 3. Version 2 debuted with 19 languages subtitled - 10 complete and 9 incomplete. There is room for only 30 languages on the dvd. Important languages are missing entirely, but we will insert whatever we get, first-come, first-serve. Our subtitle web page shows the status of many languages - www.itvproductions.net/subtitles. No one has volunteered to coordinate the translations into Portuguese, Hindi, Kannada, Bengali, etc., and French, Indonesian, Thai, German, Hungarian, Italian, Finnish, etc. are incomplete. The opportunity to show these videos of Srila Prabhupada to your countrymen in their own language may not be repeated for many years. Please do not allow this chance to escape. Devotees in Malaysia, China, Estonia, Lithuania, Croatia, etc. have, in some cases, single-handedly submitted all the translations. Their countries are in our 100% category. If you think that "someone else" is going to respond, don't be so sure. In Mayapur this year, a announcement was made after the morning program to nearly 1500 devotees to meet me in front of the alter if they were interested in seeing their language subtitled. Only one person showed up. Subtitling is a time-consuming and laborious process. We priced the cost if we went to an outside vendor, and each language - without doing the translating, only the insertions - would cost $13,000. ITV is bringing this offer to the table for free, but we can't do it without your participation in the translating. Don't wait until the last minute; we won't be able to "slip in" the subtitles. We need lots of time. The deadline is October 31st . That's only about 200 days. You may want to coordinate a team of translators and pass all the drafts by an editor. The way that the Spanish (100%) translating got done was by one devotee taking it upon himself to persuade others to do the rough translating which he then carefully reviewed before submitting. That devotee wasn't even initiated yet he understood the incredible value to having Srila Prabhupada presented in his language. ITV's job in authoring all these languages also requires a team. If you are interested in learning how to author dvd's and do this tedious work while living at the ITV studios in Topanga, California, please let me know. (Sorry but we no longer can sponsor visas, so you'll have to figure that end out for yourself if that is a problem.) Your servant, Nrsimhananda dasa, ITV PS The Srila Prabhupada Memory DVD series Part 1 and Part 2 is now also available directly from ITV.
