Maha- Abhisheka - Gaura-purnima Festival 2005

We are sending to all the devotees some pictures from the Maha-abhisheka

ceremony that we had today as part of the festivities of Sri Gaurpurnima

festival at Sri Mayapur Candrodaya Mandir. Thousands of devotees and

pilgrims were present today for this most merciful appearance day of Sri

Gauranga Mahaprabhu.

 

The Abhisheka was performed at Srila Prabhupada's Park, having three places

organized for this event, one Pandal for Srila Prabhupada's disciples and

senior devotees, one for the Ladies Matajies and one for the devotees in

general. The Abhisheka started at 4:30 pm, when devotees bring in procession

The Deities of His Lordships Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu to these Special Altars

while many are performing kirtans and dancing. At 7:00 pm devotees went for

prasadam in ghada kithcehn while senior devotees and sanyasis were invited

as usual by HH Jayapataka Swami who organized a special ekadasi feast

prasadam for all of them with their families on the roof top of the Lotus

building. Thanks to Krsna, today there were no storm and the weather was

perfect for the occasion.
