Dear Maharajas and Prabhus

Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila

Prabhupada. May this meet you well in health and Krsna consciousness. The

144-page hard copy - the best and biggest ever - can be requested.

Attached you will find the edited version of the report. At the

bottom of this message you will find the content of the 144-page report.

Ratha-yatra: This month's report is dominated by the successful

outcome of the UK London Ratha-yatra festival during which the NCD secured

51 media clippings (and we are still awaiting more), four television

broadcasts and three radio interviews. Extraordinary messages were solicited

from The Rt. Hon. Tony Blair, "This festival sees different communities

coming together, but also shows the positive expression of belief that is

characteristic of the Krishna Consciousness movement and of British Hindus

more widely: - selected quote. A message from the Mayor of London, Ken

Livingstone, read: "I would like to congratulate the ISKCON for its work and

achievements to date and for the positive and valuable contributions it

makes to London's multicultural community" - selected quote. Praghosa dasa,

new ISKCON UK GBC, said: "Lord Jagannatha comes out in order to make Himself

available to all citizens and you can see from today's festival how colorful

and joyous an occasion it is - not just for those from any particular

cultural background but for all people from whatever culture, creed or

ethnic background" - selected quote.

Media: Channel 4 television continues to film at Bhaktivedanta Manor and

elsewhere around the UK for an hour-long documentary on how we train our

priests and priestesses. Plans are now confirmed for the crew to film in

Mumbai, Mayapur and Vrndavan.

ISKCON and Interfaith: This month saw a flurry of inter-faith activities

with me representing ISKCON on the Hindu-Christian Dialogue, Varsana devi

dasi making a presentation at the Centre for Dialogue and Encounter and an

interview with Radha Mohan dasa published in a book "Listening to People of

Other Faiths." In this report you will also find the official statement of

our dialogue with the Vatican which took place in Italy.

Public Relations: Varsana devi dasi and I have been invited to

attend the Queen's garden party in July during which I plan to hand her a

copy of Krishna Dharma dasa's "Ramayana". I am also in talks with the PR

department of the National Maritime Museum for a Diwali festival in 2005.

Negotiations are underway to do a promotion with the international pop group

"Blue".

ISKCON Chaplaincy: Plans are underway to extend ISKCON's involvement

with NHS chaplaincy preaching. At the international conference for the

Association of Hospice and Palliative Care Chaplains I was invited as one of

4 speakers to make a presentation on "A Hindu/Vaisnava perspective on

spiritual care of Hindu patients."

Government: Bimal Krishna dasa is actively working with the

government on information about Hinduism for a forthcoming publication, also

assisting the Department of Health regarding the review of central funding

for chaplaincy work and liaising with the Home Office on engaging the Hindu

community.

This communications report is not representative of all the preaching

efforts in the UK yatra. We will strive to make it as "national" as

possible. For this to happen we invite all TPs, project leaders and others

to submit to us on a regular basis information we would like to consider for

inclusion. Only team work will reflect what happens on a wider basis.

Your servants . Hari-dhama dasa on behalf of the National Communications

Department.
