PRISON PREACHING-VRINDAVAN

Dear Maharajas and Prabhus

 

Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

 

We thank our well-wishers and friends for their positive feedback on our

prison preaching report last month, with your mercy and blessings we can

grow in our humble endevour to please His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada.

 

On 25 October 2004 we visited Tihar Central Jail (Delhi) the home of

hardened crimnals. This program takes place every Monday. We were

accompanied by some of the Delhi Temple devotees who led an ecstatic kirtan.

Our lecture was based on "Developing your relationship with the Supreme

Personality of Godhead" And later the prisoners were treated to prasadam

kindly sponsored by HG Balabhadra Prabhu of ISKCON Delhi Food for Life

Program. We are very grateful to him for this seva. The 200 prisoners who

attended were first timers to our program.

 

AGRA PRISON - 5/11/04 (BAHULASTAMI)

On this most auspicious day, the Appearance of Sri RadhaKunda, our preachers

visited Agra Central Jail. They had the most ecstatic kirtan with over 150

prisoners, they carried with them the festive mood of Vrindavana which

rubbed off on the prisoners. These are regular comers to our weekly program

in Agra.

 

I spoke on the Appearance Day of Sri Radhakunda, they listened attentively

and later asked questions. Some of them never knew that a transcendental

place like Radhakunda existed.

 

The fruits of our preaching: from this group 20 prisoners are having their

own kirtan in the prison for one hour everyday, with the help of the prison

authorities.

About 12 men of this group are serious chanters. They are chanting 16

rounds everyday, reading Srila Prabhupada's books and are vegetarians.

Recently they have been speaking to me about recieving initiation.

They are really very serious about Krsna consciousness.

So I am humbly requesting all the Guru Maharaja's in our Movement to please

consider accepting these devotees as your disciples. One prisoner Bhakta

Mahesh is very very sincere and serious in his practice.
