Guest guest
Dear Maharajas, Prabhus and Matajis Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. " Downscaling of national communications: The National Communications Department (NCD) is currently staffed by only two members: Radha-Mohana dasa at the Manor is overseeing logistics, administration and filtering communications issues as it comes in, and I am mainly concentrating on media, inter-faith and government. Bimal Krishna pr. has resigned and Varsana dd. has gone to India for approximately 5 months. Because of this we are very concerned that UK national communications is going to loose the momentum which has steadily increased over the last few years, evident in the previous 15 monthly communications reports. There are also potentially serious implications for national communications when it will be subject to a facelift (for better or for worse?) as a result of the proposed decentralization process for the UK yatra. In the meantime the down-scaled communications department will continue with its efforts within the limitation of all of its resources. This will be done according to what is important and urgent and the needs of individual temples. " ISKCON in the House of Commons (again) ISKCON is back in the House of Commons next month when Gauri dasa will recite prayers whilst the Prime Minister lights the Diwali candles. " Television: The Manor and its wedding programme will feature in the next BBC 1 television police drama "New Tricks", whilst Channel 4 TV continues with their documentary on the Hare Krishnas. We are now in negotiations with this TV company to produce a separate film for us from all their footage shot over the last 12 months and the months to come. The crew has just returned from India. " Mayor of London: Our good relations with the Mayor of London have resulted in him writing to us in support of the Moscow temple project. " Music CD: The NCD has agreed with a record company that the deities at the Manor will feature on the sleeve of a new Buddhist meditation CD. " Multi-Faith Day I am on a consultation committee with the Maritime Museum for a Multi-Faith Day national celebration in March 2005. " ELM Attended the recent European Leaders Meeting in Radhadesh. WE will be looking at the "image" of the GBC, how they communicate, how they are being perceived and what can be done to improve. Your servant. Hari-dhama dasa.
