Dear All

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Diwali in the House of Commons on Wednesday night was yet another

opportunity when ISKCON devotees mingled with our leaders from across the

political spectrum.

Bhaktivedanta Manor extended its usual unrivalled hospitality by providing a

staggering array of prasadam on the anukund. The Soho temple blessed our

political dignatories with exquisite flower garlands.

Gauri prabhu, TP of Bhaktivedanta Manor, recited sanskrit prayers on the

dias while David Blunkett MP and Secretary of State for the Home Office lit

the Diwali candles.

The National Communications Department (NCD) scooped a PR opportunity by

escorting all political leaders down the "isle" and straight into the

waiting hands of Gauri dasa where they were garlanded, given a brief talk

about "prasadam", and honoured with a small gift. The VVIP received a copy

of the boxed "Krsna Art Book". Several ISKCON "cameramen" flashed furiously

to capture the moments.

Bhakti Vijnana Swami was there to share the spotlight with his efforts to

gain international support for the Moscow temple project.

The following notable cabinet members and political dignatories, amongst

many other MPs, were on the receiving end of ISKCON:

David Blunkett - Home Secretary

Jack Straw - Foreign Secretary

Michael Howard - Leader of the Opposition

Simon Hughes - President of the Liberal Democrats

Lord Dholakia

Peter Luff MP

Virginia Bottomley MP

Baroness Flather

Dominique Grieve MP

Tony McNulty MP

Gauri dasa was interviewed by both television and radio.

The event was initiated by Romapada prabhu (Ramesh Kallidai) and the Hindu

Forum of Britain of which ISKCON is a member.

Your servant.

Hari-dhama dasa.
