Guest guest
HOUSTON (AP) - First, Oprah Winfrey fretted in front of millions of viewers about beef and mad cow disease. Now cattlemen have to cope with a less subtle health message from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. ``Eating meat can cause impotence,'' says a PETA-sponsored ad, which shows an attractive woman in a stars-and-stripes swimsuit with a string of link sausages. ``Vegetarians are not only generally slimmer and more sexually attractive than meat-eaters, they are also better lovers,'' claims Bruce Friedrich, a PETA spokesman in Norfolk, Va. The ads are pure bull, says Texas Beef Council spokeswoman Lisa Williams. ``Zinc is an important nutrient for sexual function, and beef is one of the best sources of zinc in your diet,'' she said.
