Guest guest
Vaishnava Training & Education, Oxford, UK. Sunday 8th August 1999 Dear Prabhu/Maharaja, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. For your interest and information, I have further news on: 1. The publication of the new Bhakti Sastri Course materials 2. The forthcoming Bhakti Sastri Teacher Training Courses 1. VTE BHAKTI SASTRI COURSE MATERIALS In order to improve the quality of these materials by taking feedback from devotees and professionals in the educational world, we've taken the decision to postpone the official publication date until 15th December 1999. The extra time will allow us also to more rigorously trial these materials and to ensure that they are of the highest standard. Nevertheless, I do apologise for the delay and any inconvenience this may cause to you. Final details, including the price of the materials, will be available as from 1st December 1999. The approximate cost of the materials will be GB Pounds 75 plus postage and packing. These will now include: * three Syllabuses, each in a ring binder (one for each of the three sections of the course) * three Books of Quotes (one for each section) * a Teachers' Manual * a Student Handbook Please note that the course materials will now be suitable for those undergoing self-study and the Teachers Manual will cover this option. Furthermore, in the year 2000 we will be developing the course for distance learning (i.e. correspondence courses and/or computer based learning). FORTHCOMING BHAKTI SASTRI TEACHER TRAINING COURSES The first course, which involves about 12 hours of learning, will be run in Vrindavan as part of the regular VIHE sessions and will be in session from Monday, 25th October until Friday, 5th November (which comprises the second half of the seminars). The course will be taught, one lesson per day, by the following devotees: * Braja Bihari das * Narayani devi dasi * Rasamandala das For more information, and for registration, please contact the VIHE in Vrindavan. If you have any difficulty in this, then please do get back to me in Oxford. There are a limited number of places and from previous responses it is clear that demand is very high - so please do register as soon as possible. Please also note that the VTE is planning further BS TTC's in the following countries: * South Africa (January 2000) * USA (Spring 2000 - venue to be confirmed) * Europe (Spring 2000 - venue to be confirmed) * Mayapur (Gaura Purnima 2000 - awaiting further details) Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in any of these courses or indeed or if you feel that you'll be unable to attend one of these but still would like to teach the VTE bhakti sastri course. We are considering that in some cases we will suggest that devotees start teaching the course and then sit the BS TTC retroactively. This is not the best option but, at the same time as recognising the need for qualified and certified teachers, we do not want to get bogged down in bureaucracy. I do hope you find this of interest. If you have any queries, please do get back to me (although I will be away from 8th-23rd August, so after then please.) With very best wishes Your Servant Rasamandala Das
