Guest guest
Sorry senor but I beg to differ from you . Having lived in India for the better part of 28 years . Having seen Srila Prabhupada actively preaching in India to Indians ( especially high class people ) , having befriended many high class and even simple Indians , I feel that despite the present day India in general they do have much better samskaras than we do . I do feel that Srila Prabhupada really wanted to make some followers in the west and then convince the Indians to take up their own culture and help him preach all over the world . bharata bhumite haila manusa janma jara ( look it up ) . I am weak , I am sick , I am tired but I wish I had the strength to finish this properly and put things into balance . Ravana , Kamsa etc were all born as Indians . You get the best and the worst . Personally , having a fairly active preaching schedule , I like to hear of Indias achievements ( not that they should be in any way puffed up - pride will bring them crashing down ) .. People have negative impression of India as a poor country of beggars and it is hard to sell them a culture whose roots are in India if they have negative impressions . I also say that there was woe to any person who would denigrate India in front of Srila Prabhupada . Ask Tamal Krishna Goswami , Jayapataka Swami , Giriraja Swami or any of the people with experience . Today there are tens of thousands of regular congregational members in India . They chant rounds , follow the principles fairly easily and the numbers are growing all over the country . We get half a million pilgrims at our Bombay Janmasthami . It goes on and on . Better to just let this conversation end with mutual respect . There is positive energy everywhere . I apologize if I have said anything wrong . Your servant Sridhar Swami I am more concerned that a sincere searcher , Patrick Stacey , has written a letter to this conference asking for information and I will bet no one has answered him .
