Actually, years ago, when BTG was still in the mimeo-graph era, the then

-editor, Rayamrama dass, wanted to write an article against butchers,

exposing them through our phi;ospphy to be great murderers. Srila

Prabhupada intervened, saying "why we should designate only one class of

men as murderers? Aactually we, everyne of us, is butcher, killer, if we do

not become KRishna Concious. It was a very sobering statement. Further he

has mentioned that we are not "vegetarians", we are "Krishnatarians"...that

if KRishna said to eat meat, then we would eat meat. But KRishna said,

"Putr, pushpan, phalam toyam...." It is not such a wonderful thing to be a

vegetarian, even the monkeys, pigeons are vegetarian, but we offer our food

to KRishna, therefore, Krishnatarian!"
