Most you of you must have heard about the recent Military Coup in Sierra

Leone, since is has been quite prominent in the news.

We have about eight devotees there and it has been the most

successful preaching in West Africa. Now things are very bad. The

devotees have not gone out for one month. There is constant danger of

fighting breaking out. There is looting everywhere. Thousands of people,

including citizens, have evacuated. The price of food has gone up very

much and all food relief agencies have left, after having been heavily

looted. They don't know when they will come back. For the moment the

devotees cannot leave.

There is no one there to whom they can turn for donations, all the

Indian people have left, So the situation is very bad. The president,

Varaha dasa, was in Liberia when the war started. He says the current

situation in Sierra Leone is worse. In Liberia some devotees were killed

by the militia.

We beg all devotees to make some special prayers. Lord

Nrsinghadeva will always protect His devotees.

Of course we also need financial help. The rent on their house

is due soon. In Africa we must pay three years in advance. If they can

secure that, when things settle down they will be able to carry on. In

West Africa, even in the best of times, it is very hard to generate funds

and the devotees live day by day. We are always begging for books and

always coming up short. Now this is more of an emergency and if anyone
