Today 04-05-2003 one of the most auspicious events begins, The Chandan Yatra (festival) at the Sri Mayapur Chandrodaya Mandir. Hundreds of devotees are present to see daily the transcendental form of Lord Madhava & Lord Nrishimhadeva totally covered by Chandan. This morning the class was given earlier at 6:45 am. HH Bhaktividyapurna Swami delivered Bhagavatam lecture about the devotional service which was very ecstatic and comprehensive and many doubts were cleared during the sessions of Questions and answers. At 8:15 am (usually opens at 7:15 am) the Altar of Lord Nrishimhadeva was opened and devotees were astonished by the amazing form of the Lord and Bhakta Prahlad completely covered with candan (please see pics attached), 10 minutes later the Sri Panca Tattva Bhagavan's altar was opened and Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu's transcendental body was covered by Candan and the other members of The Panca Tattva had candan on Their foreheads. At 9:00 am the main altar with Sri Sri Radha Madhava & Astasakhis was open and all devotees was loudly shouting the names of the Lord in ecstasy after seeing the Transcendental and beautiful body of Madhava in Candan, Srimati Radharani along with the gopis had candan on Their forehead, Govardhan Sila and small deities of Radha Madhava and Sri Mayapur Candra were also covered with candan. For this festival devotees come from many places to see the beauty of this event and today at 5:00 pm we will have the procession of the Deities to Srila Prabhupada Pushpa Samadhi for the boat festival, one of the most attractive and for devotees and pilgrims.
