Tamal Krsna Maharaja leaves body in a car accident in Mayapur

Dear Devotees, PAMHO&AGTSP.

 

I AM VERY SAD TO REPORT TO ALL OF YOU THIS TERRIBLE NEWS. I just got a call

from a few devotees that HH Tamal Krishna Goswami left his body due to a car

accident on His way to the Calcutta Airport. He was unconscious, in a coma,

and finally passed away in the hospital. We are trying to obtain details but

communications are very bad.

 

The day before yesterday HH Tamal Krishna Maharaja was talking about his

experiences

with Srila Prabhupada and other devotees on the main stage in the festival

inauguration program. Afterwards, He excused himself due to health problems,

so we have to assume his body was a little weak and could not tolerate the

shock of the accident. He was also sharing stories with other senior

devotees who were present in 1972 like HH Jayapataka Maharaja, Lokanath

Maharaja and Brahmananda prabhu. It so unfortunate for us to lose the

physical presence of such a dear devotee and personal associate and

secretary of HDG Srila Prabhupada.

 

We all pray to the Lord to take him into His eternal abode as He dedicated

His entire life to serving His Gurumaharaja HDG AC Bhaktivedanta Swami

Prabhupada and constantly worked to spread Krishna Consciousness all over

the world.

 

The accident occurred at 5:15am, one hour away from Mayapur in an area

called Fulia. He was taken to a hospital in Ranaghat (between Krishna Nagar

and Calcutta).

 

In a few hours the body of HH Tamal Krishna Maharaja will be brought back to

Mayapur, after legal formalities have been cleared in the hospital.

 

Another car was traveling behind the main car and devotees immediately

reported the accident to authorities in Mayapur. HH Jayapataka Maharaja

immediately went to the hospital at 5:30 am and 3 additional cars took Their

Holinesses Sivarama Maharaja, Radhanath Maharaja, Jayadwaita Maharaja, BV

Govinda Maharaja and Niranjana Swami.

 

Three other devotees were in the car with HH Tamal Krishna Goswami; Aghabid

das (responsible for the ISKCON youth group in Calcutta) is in a very

dangerous situation and he has been taken to a hospital in Calcutta.

Vrndavaneswari dd has also been taken to the Calcutta hospital, in coma. She

is the wife of Kalasundara Prabhu, the temple President in New Zealand, who

also was traveling in the same car (Tata Sumo) but is safe.

We request all the devotees around the world to pray for HH Tamal Krishna

Goswami and may Lord Narasimhadev protect HIM and Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu

bless him and take him to His eternal abode.
