Guest guest Posted May 8, 2003 Report Share Posted May 8, 2003 2 nd Annual Himalyan Festival Saturday June 7, 6 pm Krishna Temple, Spanish Fork, Utah (801)798-3559/787-1510 The 2nd Annual Himalayan performing Arts Festival will be held Saturday June 7th at the Krishna Temple one mile south of Spanish Fork on Main St. Performing Artists will take the stage from 6 pm, and present a menu of classical Indian dance, drama, music and songs. Some of the performing artists will be Radha Carman of Los Angeles, and Satya Narayana Raju of Bangalore, India. Inserted amongst the dance programs will be a drama about the legendary ŒSavitri¹ from Mahabharata and a comedy called the ³Genie in the Lamp.² There is a budget as well for local artists would would qualify to particpate in the event. They are invited to apply. Throughout festival goers can purchase hot meals of the regional cuisine, consisting of curries with homemade cheese (paneer), rice pilao, blueberry hallava, papadams, mango lassi etc. Admission fee is $3.00 adults, $1.00 children.
