Dear Devotees

Dandavat Pranams

As part of the festivities that we have in Sri Mayapur dham for this very

auspicious occasion of Sri Gaurpurnima festival 2003 today morning (17-3-03)

we had a very ecstatic Rathayatra festival. It was great to see the mode of

the devotees during this transcendental event made famous all over the world

by HDG Srila Prabhupada.

Thousands of devotees and pilgrims gathered in the court yard of Sri Mayapur

Chandrodaya Mandir to start the procession of 4 chariots (3 for Sri Sri Sri

Jagannath, Baladeva & Subhadra and one for Sri Sri Gaurnitai).'

There were groups of kirtan in front of each chariot and the matajies made

their own group in front Srimate Subhadra devi's chariot, also we had the

performance during the festival of a special group from Tirupati that is

part of their service to do special performances in front of the deities of

Lord Vishnu in south India, as well we have the artists and players of Sri

Ranganiketan from Manipur giving their best for this festival, they also

were leading the procession before the chariots. Some martial band group

were also present and as it is tradition in Mayapur Gulab ( the elephant )

is always present in every procession and is part of the main attractions

for the devotees.

Rathyatra in Mayapur is one of the most favorite activities that we have

during this festival since Navadwipa is non different from Purusottama

Kshetra Sri Jagannath Puri.

We are sending many pictures about this important spiritual event, please

visit www.mayapur.info and other related websites.
