PR campaign in Moscow

Dear devotees, Maharajas, matajis and prabhus,

 

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

 

I am appealing for your help.

 

Perhaps all of you know that ISKCON receive 2.5 acres of land in a very

central location in Moscow, on the road to the International Airport, only a

few minutes drive from the center of the city.

 

We are planning to build the first Krishna temple in Moscow, which will open

the new page in the history of our movement and the Hinduism in general not

only in Russia. It will be a very significant achievement.

 

But as you also probably aware of and as it should have been expected, there

are some very influential forces in this country which don't want to see the

Krishna's temple in Moscow, especially in this particular place.

 

These forces try to spoil our public image, deny our connections with

Hinduism and India, using all kinds of forbidden techniques, i.e. slander,

blackmail, etc.

 

Unfortunately, we were draged into a battle and have to mount a campaign to

protect our right to worship and believe in Krishna. It is a very difficult

and sometimes ungrateful jod, although we can see that through this campaign

we are getting so much publicity which we could never dream to have in the

previous years. The new temple even before it appeared is already preaching

the glory of Lord Caitanya and His movement.

 

Perhaps some of you read my previous report about recent very successful TV

show which featured the duel between a representative of the Orthodox Church

and a devotee over this issue which increased the popularity of the Hare

Krsna movement many times all over the country.

 

Unfortunately this campaign, as any other campaign, is consuming a lot of

our energy, money and time. The forces who are fighting against us have much

more resources in their command - media, money, people, support from some

officials, etc.

 

Without the strong international support we will not be able to withstand

this attack.

 

I am hereby humbly appeal to the international Society of devotees to help

us in this campaign.

 

We need letters of support from international celebrities (please contatc me

presonally and also Madana-mohan MG to get the addresses and to coordinate

your actions with us .

 

But over and above all we need laksmi to fight this campaign, to icrease our

social activities, for the food distribution, to get some coverage, to

communicate our message to public, etc.

 

I beg you to consider possible help in our attempts to serve Srila

Prabhupada and his mission.
