The Vaisnava Calendar Program is now available as

FREEWARE, courtesy of the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust.

The latest version--VCAL 4.00--has been released on

the occasion of Gaura Purnima, the appearance day of

Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu.

VCAL is a DOS-based program that calculates calendars

according to Vedic astronomy. For anywhere in the world,

it tells when each tithi, each naksatra, and each lunar

month occurs, and when to observe various festivals.

It also calculates birthdays.

Many thanks to Markandeya Rishi Prabhu, from Sweden, co-

author of the program, for many hours of work on this new

version.

The program is available from the file area of the COM con-

ference (Vaisnava) Calendar. To download VCAL 4.00, please

use the command "download file from calendar VCAL400.ZIP."

(In WinCOM, click Commands/Download/File from a conference,

and fill in the name of the conference and the file name in

the appropriate boxes.) The file VCAL400.ZIP contains the

program and the documentation.

If you prefer to download it from the World Wide Web, then

you can get the same file from the following address:
