top piece for brahmacaris?

Dear Srila Acaryapada,

Pamro. AGTYDG& SP.

I seen in many pictures in Prabhupada times the brahmacaris wearing top

pieces with a knot. I seen also some brahmacaris in the exception to do it

at the present, but mostly they put the chadar around the body like for the

puja right arm free, with or without the knot. Is the knot the sign of the

sannyasa asrama or the top piece?

I am little confused, please help.
