Respected Maharaj,

I recently heard that Nirjala Ekadasi is observed because

it on this Ekadasi that Bhima observed fasting even without drinking

water.I've also heard that Ekadasi is observed because certain food

items are polluted by the influence of Kali on this day.Since Ekadasi

fasting is to avoid the influence of Kali yuga how come Bhima fasted on

that day,while he actually was living in Dwapara Yuga.
