Guest guest
Dear Jayapataka Maharaja, Please accept my respectful obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! I have already asked this question to the deity worship conference without any response. Can you tell me anything about . According to the deity worship book Satya Narayana puja (katha) is a concocted form of worship. People have told me it is in the Skanda purana. Can you throw further light on this? Skanda Purana is the largest of all the Puranas and it is a common joke that if you want to win an argument just say it is in Skanda Purana and the opposing scholar will spend the rest of his life looking for it. It might actually be there, but it would save me the time to know where it is. Even if there is Satya Narayana Puja, it is quite possible, but the aspect that ISKCON objects to is not worshiping Satya & Narayana. Worshopping Laksmi and Narayana is wonderful. The problem is when professional priests do such Pujas only for mundane purposes and not in a devotional mood. I hope that this finds you in good health.
