Guest guest
Hare Krishna Maharaj PAMHO, AGTSP I hope this letter finds you in high spirits. I just have one question. I'm quoting below the translation of three Srimad Bhagvatam verses, and my question is how to resolve the apparent contradiction between the verses. SB 3.8.22 At the end of Brahma's one hundred years, when his meditation was complete, he developed the required knowledge, and as a result he could see in his heart the Supreme within himself, whom he couldn't see before, with the greatest endeavor. SB 3.9.18 Your Lordship, I offer my respectfull obeisances unto You who are indefatigable time and the enjoyer of all sacrifices. Although I'm situated in an abode which will continue to exist for a time duration of two parArdhas, although I'm the leader of all other planets in the universe, and although I've undergone many, many years of penance of self-realization, still I offer my respcts unto you. 1 parArdha= 4,320,000,000 x 30 x 12 x 100 years SB 3.11.34 The one hundred years of Brahma's life are divided into two parts, the first half and the second half. The first half of the duration of Brahma's life is already over, and the second half is now current. My questions is if Brahma lives for 100 years, and how did he meditate for 100 years as per SB 3.8.22 ? Or does he live for 2 parArdha, per SB 3.9.18, and each parArdha equals 100 years of Brahma, and he meditated for 100 years and will live for another 100 years, which is the current second half. I hope these questions didn't take up a whole lot of your valuable time. your humble servant
