He one explain how Vastu shows the how the natural forces are flowing. If you go against the flow then it is like swimming upstream or riding on a bumpy road. You can go, but it will be more troublesome. Other Vastu experts explain how some features affect the financial success of the project and that certain elements help bring in financial support more abundantly. Water to the North or North Eastern direction is said to be auspicious in this regard. If you think about it then you find that the richest temples in India all have water bodies to the North. Tirupati and Guruvayur temples stick in the mind. I don't remember Srila Prabhupada saying anything against Vastu as such. One thing is there that different experts may have different visions about it. I wouldn't just listen to one expert since others might have other ways of adjusting. If all say the same thing then you might consider. It is like ayurveda --- a lot depends on the expertise of the Doctor to apply the principles. If what they suggest is totally impractical there are usually other options given in Vastu Sastra. It isn't a black and white thing. Just like Visnu Deities can normally face East, South or North, but East is usually considered best. Then under some geographical situations a particular direction is better. The managers can consider this as one influence and then make a decision. An expert Vastu Sastra-vit can offer a number of solutions to problems. The Vedas are a science and utilizing it is beneficial. There may be other considerations. I hope this finds you blissful and healthy in Krishna consciousness.
