A pure devotee wants to increase the number of devotees in the world. He is tirelessly endeavoring to save conditioned souls and deliver them to the Lotus Feet of Lord Sri Krishna. That is selfless and not desiring followers for himself, even if some of those devotees become his disciples or students. this is called Gosthyanandi. However, if someone is desiring a large material following of fans or followers without any Krishna consciousness purpose then it is not conducive for pure devotional service. I hope this finds you blissful and healthy in Krishna consciousness. Your ever well wisher, Jayapataka Swami
