Spiritual Master and Parents

What is the difference in relations of son/daughter and material father and

disciple and Spiritual Master (spiritual father)?

 

Reply: I was recently sent the following quotation that answers this

question:

 

Under ordinary circumstances one's own father and mother are

worshipable, but in every species one gets a father and mother.

Far rarer is it to get Guru and Krishna. The Spiritual Master can bestow

prema-bhakti to those who have attained His mercy, therefore He is the

topmost father, mother and friend to everyone. (Caitanya-Mangala

Madhya-Khanda)

Please accept my respectful obeisances ! all glories to Srila Prabhupada !

All glories to your lotus feet !

Can you please help me understand the following:

 

" The Spiritual Master can bestow

prema-bhakti to those who have attained His mercy",,,,,

Is it that SMs mercy the same for all His disciples or does it vary from

disciple to disciple?

How do we get that mercy? What all should be done ?
