Nityananda Prabhu's Appearance Day Vyasa-Puja Festival & Magha Month Vrata

My Dear Bhn Masa,

Please accept my blessings. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!

Thankyou for your letter cited below with my comments. I have noted the

contents carefully.

I don't know if you mean "on the thread" as a brahmana with gayatri mantra

and brahmana thread; or "on the thread" being a misprint and you actually

mean "on the road" or while travelling.

Technically we cannot offer anything to Lord Sri Krishna which is not cooked

by devotees. Karmi bread and other foodstuffs prepared by non-devotees are

not offerable since we have no way of quality control in its preparation.

This is even for first initiates what to speak of brahmanas.

While on the road or while travelling we can offer fruit since it is made by

Lord Sri Krishna's nature, but things like crackers, chips, bread, etc. made

by karmis can't be offered. Srila Prabhupada said during emergencies if we

have to eat vegetarian food prepared by non-devotees we can chant Sri Visnu

three times to neutralize the sins, although it is not fully prasadam.

I hope that this finds you in good health.

Your ever well wisher,

Jayapataka Swami
